Employment

Welcome to St Virgil's College, Hobart! We are a vibrant educational community with a calling to educate boys in the tradition of Blessed Edmund Rice.

College Environment

St Virgil’s College is a Kindergarten to Year 12 school for boys, founded in 1911 and conducted by Edmund Rice Education Australia (EREA).

The College is seeking experienced and motivated staff to work as part of a team to support the expansion of current operations.

The Virgilian Way

Our values of Community, Integrity, Justice, Kindness and Learning are an authentic, lived representation of who we are and who we aspire to be. They shape and inform our culture and are evident in all interactions with members of our community.

Our Pastoral Care and Wellbeing framework has - at its foundation - what encompasses being a true Virgilian. 'The Virgilian Way' seeks to form our young men through our core values and by following in the footsteps of Blessed Edmund Rice.

Living in Tasmania

The combination of Tasmania’s unhurried pace of life and endless opportunities to explore the natural habitat and culture provides an elusive work-life balance.

Tasmania is a place of wild and beautiful landscapes, friendly people and a relaxed island lifestyle. No matter where you explore, whether you spend your time in one place or drive around the island, you will be delighted by what you will find and surprised at how much bigger Tasmania is on the inside.

Meet Us

Prep sees students reaching learning milestones at a rapid rate and Classroom Teacher Miss Stacey King is there to engage them at every step of the way.

"I have been welcomed into an incredible College community and am especially thankful for the supportive network of staff.

The wonderful opportunities and experiences we provide the boys at St Virgil's ensures everyone’s unique interests and learning journey is considered. I love the sense of curiosity and wonder that they have at this age, and the way students develop and learn."

As a part of the Wellbeing Team, Mr Thymon Venter works with a collaborative team to be a voice for students and staff alike.

"I have always wanted to make a positive impact on lives of others, to understand their own experiences and to walk alongside them. I  support students by providing them with someone to listen, to support their struggles and to celebrate their successes.

This passion comes from my mother who is also a teacher and a women’s advocate."
