St Virgil’s College annual tuition fees are as inclusive as possible and cover such expenses as:

  • The cost of all classroom and activity resources that are provided to students such as library materials, classroom resources such as materials for art and VET subjects, photocopied material, copyright charges, PE and sport equipment, musical instruments, visiting artists, subject competitions, camps for Year 3 to 9 and the Year 6 Canberra trip. (The Canberra Trip is an integral part of the Year 6 curriculum. Accordingly, the cost has now been included in the annual tuition fee). 
  • Charges for whole-of-school activities such as the Edmund Rice Mass, athletics and swimming carnivals, reflection days, and The Virgilian.
  • The provision of up to date technology in the classroom, an extensive wireless network throughout the College, connectivity to the Internet and all related costs associated with the use of a school iPad/MacBook including apps and AppleCare.

Please note: 

  • Fees can be paid in a variety of ways, including weekly, fortnightly or monthly instalments.
  • All families are required to return the fee payment plan to the Business Office by 31 January 2024.
  • Parents who are able to pay the annual fee in full prior to 31 March will receive a $100 fee discount.
  • All fees are payable by 30 November 2024.

Payment Options

There are various options available to make regular payments of the annual fees.

Payments may be made by:

Family Discount

A family discount is available when a number of children in the family attend Catholic schools.

The discount rates are:

  • Three children – 10%
  • Four children – 20%
  • Five children – 30%

This discount is assessed from the Family Discount form that must be returned to the Business Office.

Financial Hardship

In line with the College's mission as a Catholic school in the Edmund Rice tradition, a variation to the level of Tuition Fees payable may be available in cases of demonstrated financial hardship.

Application forms are available from the Business Office and are to be submitted to the Business Office also.

Parents who received a reduction for 2023 must re-apply for 2024.

Upfront Payment Discount

A discount of $100 will apply to your account if full payment is made by 31 March 2024.

Stationery Purchases

In 2024, stationery sales will be made directly to parents by Office National Hobart.
